The Trainwreck Challenge

My favorite hometown band of all time is Trainwreck. They are a Bisbee band, and they play in the area weekly. I first knew Sean Trachtman when I moved to Truth or Consequences NM in 1995. I immediately felt a kinship with him, like a son, or brother.

Sean recently had heart surgery. He has come home from the surgery and is doing well, though it is challenging. They have no income with Sean recovering from the procedure. Any and all contributions and gifts of energy or other forms will be greatly appreciated. Sean and Jane are people who know about and live their Spirit. They are dear friends and I ask that any of you who feel inspired please help them in any way that you can.

We have many aspects of our lives in this world, and one of them is music. There is a vibration there that adds to our joyful and heartfelt experience. Any time anyone touches our hearts and souls with their music and their presence we naturally reach out and support them in any way that we can.

When I left T or C NM to go to AZ, so too did Sean and his new sweetheart, Jane. I didn't know if we'd see each other again, but felt that we would. As my travels took me back and forth between AZ and NM, I always felt that some day we would meet again.

When I finally found my way to Bisbee to live in 1999, I went into a coffee shop one evening and wasn't there too long before I heard a voice say, "Nancy, is that you?" It was a friend from T or C who plays guitar and sings; she was on break when I arrived. In the course of our conversation she told me that Sean and Jane were in Bisbee and he was playing in a band called Trainwreck. In fact they were playing just up the street at St. Elmo's on Brewery Gulch.

When her 'gig' was over we hurried up the Gulch to surprise Sean and Jane, who had recently tied the knot. What a reunion! They were on break, and when they went back to playing I thought I must have been brought back to heaven. Sean was not only playing in a band again, but he was the lead singer. I knew he had finally begun to realize his potential, and his talent came through loud and clear.

Through my travels I have kept in touch with Sean and Jane, and whenever possible I have found my way to the places Sean, Frank, and the other members of the band who have changed over the years, play their blues-rock music. Now Mike, Kenny and Scott have completed the band and compliment each other with Sean and Frank as they play for us to dance the night away. You can visit their website at http://www.train-wreck.com and read that they won the 2007 Southern Arizona Blues Heritage Foundation Blues Challenge, then they went to Memphis, Tennessee on January 31st at the International Blues Challenge.

Also you can read about Sean's heart challenge at http://www.train-wreck.com/heart/index.htm and show him support any way that you choose. They have a Paypal button and also have posted their snail mail address. You can hear sound clips from one of their CDs here: http://cdbaby.com/cd/trainwrecktunes2 .

Thanks for exploring the Trainwreck website and for showing your support in any way that you can. They will appreciate it and so will all of us who dance the evening away to their upbeat music when they get back in the groove.
